About My Happy Place

Ask ten people about their happy place and you'll likely hear ten completely different answers.

Some will name a city.

Others a beach, a mountain, or a favorite café.

But the most revealing answers are often something else entirely.

A Sunday morning before the rest of the house wakes up.

A well-loved book.

A family tradition.

The smell of fresh bread.

A conversation with an old friend.

A quiet moment by a window while the rain falls outside.

Because a happy place is not always a place.

Sometimes it is a memory.

Sometimes it is a ritual.

Sometimes it is a person.

Sometimes it is simply a way of being in the world.

My Happy Place was created to celebrate those things.

The places, moments, and simple joys that make life feel a little richer, a little softer, and a little more meaningful.

The Beginning

Why do certain places stay with us long after we've left them?

Born and raised in Mexico, I later spent eleven unforgettable years living in Paris before eventually making my home in Dubai.

Each chapter of life introduced me to new cities, new people, new traditions, and new ways of seeing the world.

But over time, I noticed something surprising.

The places I remembered most vividly were rarely the famous landmarks.

What stayed with me were the details.

The neighborhood bakery that became part of my routine.

The bookstore I visited whenever I needed inspiration.

The café where I spent an afternoon reading.

The hidden courtyard I discovered by accident.

The feeling of belonging, even briefly, to a place that was not originally my own.

I came to understand that what we fall in love with is often not the destination itself, but the life that unfolds within it.

And that realization eventually became My Happy Place.

Why Coloring?

A quiet way to linger a little longer

People often ask why I chose coloring books.

The answer is surprisingly simple.

Coloring invites us to slow down.

Coloring asks nothing from us except presence.

There is no deadline.

No performance.

No pressure to get it right.

Just a page, your favorite coloring tools, and a few quiet moments to yourself.

My Happy Place uses coloring as a way to linger a little longer in the places, memories, and everyday scenes we love.

Not simply to look at them, but to spend time with them.

For Wanderers

Curiosity is its own kind of journey

Around here, you'll often see the word Wanderer.

Not because this is a travel brand.

And not because I believe a meaningful life requires constant movement.

To me, a Wanderer is simply someone who moves through the world with curiosity.

Someone who notices things.

Someone who asks questions.

Someone who finds beauty in unexpected places.

Someone who remains open to wonder, even in ordinary moments.

You can be a Wanderer while exploring a new city.

You can also be a Wanderer while sitting in your favorite chair at home.

My Happy Place was created for both.

What You'll Find Here

Books, playlists, notes, and little treasures

At its heart, My Happy Place is a growing collection of books inspired by places, rituals, memories, and everyday joys.

Some celebrate beloved cities.

Others explore cozy traditions, seasonal moments, and the small pleasures that often go unnoticed in the rush of daily life.

Alongside the books, you'll find playlists, studio notes, reflections, and little treasures collected along the way.

Together, they form a growing library for curious minds and gentle souls who believe that life becomes richer when we learn to pay attention.

A Little About Me

Hello, I'm Sandra.

I'm a reader, writer, mother, and lifelong student of people, places, and ideas.

I love bookstores more than I probably should.

I can happily lose track of time wandering through unfamiliar neighborhoods.

Some people return from their travels with souvenirs.

I usually come back with an overflowing camera roll filled with cafés, bookstores, pastries, flower stands, quiet corners, and the small details most people walk past without noticing.

The truth is that My Happy Place is not a business idea that appeared overnight.

It is the natural meeting point of many things I've loved for years: travel, storytelling, creativity, learning, culture, and the belief that happiness is often hiding in plain sight.

This project simply gave those passions a home.

What Guides Everything Here

Small joys. Slow moments. Curious hearts.

The books may change.

The destinations may change.

The projects may evolve.

But the ideas behind them remain the same.

That happiness is often found in ordinary moments.

That beauty deserves our attention.

That creativity helps us slow down.

That stories connect us.

That curiosity makes life richer.

And that the world becomes a more interesting place when we take the time to truly notice it.

Welcome, Wanderer

Welcome.

Whether you arrived here because of a book, a city you love, a recommendation from a friend, or a simple curiosity about what this project is all about, I'm glad you're here.

I hope this little corner of the internet inspires you to slow down, look closer, and rediscover some of the wonder that already exists around you.

After all, finding a happy place is rarely about going somewhere new.

More often, it's about learning to see what was there all along.

I'm delighted you found your way here.

With love and gratitude,

Sandra
